Ok, I'm looking to make an audio game, because I want to. I put up a board on the audio games board and was told to go to audiogamemaker.com, which I did, and downloaded the product and started using it, but I have some questions and the manual does not help in the least. I'm hoping there is someone here with some experience with this program, who is willing to help me out a little, until I learn how to use this thing.
If you are willing to help, post here or send me a pm, and we can work it out.
thank you very much.
I hate to say it but you're wasting your time with that thing. I spent months playing with that thing and could never make a workable game. The manual is of course absolutely no help, but beyond that there are a lot of bugs that make any game you might make all but unplayable. And the developers were college students who are absolutely no help now that the project is out of their hands. It was an assignment for a class and once the program was released they washed their hands of it, and if something didn't work and the manual wasn't up to date well tough luck. So I'd leave the AGM alone if I were you. It's sad really since I still think that if it'd been handled properly the program could have had a great deal of potential.
I'm beginning to agree with you. I've played with it for hours now, and can't make it work the way I want. You might be able to make an environment you could explore, but to make an actual game, it seems rather pointless.
Exactly. One of my projects was to make an audio game based on the Atari 2600 game Adventure. Problem was I could never get the doors (called Portals), to work properly for one thing. Nor could I get the keys to said doors to work properly. And if you had a sound to denote the location of an item, even after you picked said item up you would continue to hear the sound in the original location. You also couldn't have an actual health meter because the "is hit" reaction didn't work properly. And of course the programmers pretty much washed their hands of it after it was done.
